“The True Women is as yet a Dream of the Future” — Elizabeth Kady Stanton.

Stanton’s life mission has yet to be fulfilled!
Now is the time for truly progressive women to support your fellow progressive women candidates.

I am asking you to join our campaign to bring real progressive change to the district and to the State House. We need to work together to legislate equal pay for women in the workplace, fight to protect a women’s right to choose, to protect women against discrimination and violence of all kinds. We need to work together to create a society where paid vacations, family time, personal time, and funded childcare is the norm. We need to legislate a health care policy for women and their families that is both affordable and comprehensive.

Now is the time! Please join me in this fight for equal rights!

For far too long only the politically connected have a voice. Let’s bring the district together after the election, establish a 10th Suffolk District Board Coalition to identify and solve problems by sharing our skills, education and experiences. Each interested resident will have a seat at the problem solving table. Equitably we will solve the problems we face by working together. I will not attend law school, work at a law firm, work another job or grow a business. In view of the current economic crisis and the problems we face, we need more full time legislators, not part-time legislators. Ask the question, will my fellow candidates pledge to work full time not part-time as our state representative? What skills and experiences will they bring to the state house?

You know, I will always protect private life choices. I am pro-choice and pro-equal marriage, pro- equal rights, against discrimination of all kinds now and forever, not just when I am running for office. I fully support funding public education, integrating civic education, establishing a first in the nation student voter registration system. I will fight to change high stakes testing, address socio-economic issues rather than ignore poverty, and fight to stop the push to fund charter schools. Every student deserves a quality education. If Brookline High parents and students can enjoy a successful urban public school so can West Roxbury and Roslindale. People who work in a city and or town should be able to afford to reside in the community they work in. Let’s bring back rent to own opportunities for average working families. Let’s work together to vigorously grow a green economy: Why not: insulate every home, retrofit every roof, install energy efficient windows in every home across the state. Improve public transportation, infrastructure. Establish public private partnerships, funding mechanisms for philanthropists, foundations and for citizens who want to help fund services and public education. Pass a progressive income tax, property tax with a circuit breaker for retired citizens and average working families. These are some of the ideas and plans we can work on after the election.

Please be informed before Election Day, September 14. On your own please evaluate the candidates current and previous support of elected officials, published and non published political positions. Don’t reply on commentary or biased media reporting. Now is the time to end politically expediency and opportunism in the 10th Suffolk District. We have a responsibility as voters to vote and be informed before Election Day.

Why am I the only candidate running for state representative publicly supporting the re-election of Governor Patrick?

Now is the time to ask questions, critically evaluate each candidate’s plans before September 14.

Join our campaign today. Help fund our real progressive campaign so we can deliver our message to every registered voter. We are asking the over one thousand voters who supported our campaign in 2008, to bring 10 friends each to the polls on September 14, that’s how we will win!

In 2008, I was the only candidate to run against conservative democrat incumbent, Mike Rush. I did not wait for a vacated seat.

Let’s with the power of our vote, vote against discrimination of all kinds now and forever, status quo politics, political expediency and opportunism on Election Day, September 14. Now is the time!

Thank you for your consideration and your support!

Pamela

Out on the campaign trail I meet families every day who tell me they cannot afford private health insurance and that their health care policy includes high deductibles.

This summer, one family informed me they pay over eighteen thousand dollars per year to Blue-Cross Blue Shield to cover their family. That’s not fair. Let’s admit our health care system is still broken and fix it.

Private health insurance is a product and private health insurance companies must make a profit for shareholders.

That’s a problem because there is no way to control costs. I champion Governor Patrick’s efforts to control rising private health insurance costs. As he said, “It is a complicated issue,” but I am confident we can solve this serious issue if voters are willing to critically evaluate rather than swallow private health insurance company advertisements claiming we need private health insurance products and that there are no other rational choices. Please, let us not believe those media messages. Let’s examine all of the facts, not just how we need to work with private health insurance companies.

We need to bring all the options to the attention of the public including a single payer health care option. I won’t just sponsor single payer health care legislation. I will work hard to bring a collective coalition together inside and outside the state house to pass this vitally needed, long overdue health care policy. Below is a brief description of single payer care. For more info check out masscare.org to read more about how a single payer plan works and why we should lobby our legislators to pass single payer care legislation

I propose exploring a public option that citizens can purchase. Those citizens who prefer to purchase private heath insurance can do so. I am interested in listening to your ideas and health care proposals.

Health care costs and coverage is the topic this week. What are your plans to fix it? Let’s begin talking about how we can solve problems now. Why wait? We are hosting an informal forum to discuss this health care issue. We will keep you posted on the date and time.

But in the meantime, let’s connect here and now. Feel free to call. Looking forward to hearing from you regarding this serious issue.

Thank you for your support and consideration!

Pamela and Team Julian

“The way we currently organize health insurance:

Is Expensive: The United States spends more per person than any other country in the world on health care.

Has No Capacity to Control Costs: Our costs are not only high, but also rising faster than those of other developed countries.

Is Financially Ruinous for Many Households, Businesses, and Government Budgets: low-income people and small businesses pay these catastrophic costs disproportionately.

Leads to Very Poor Health Outcomes: Under this system we actually live shorter lives, and receive much less of the care we need.

Is Highly Discriminatory: Health Care disparities along lines of race, ethnicity, class, gender, and age are unmatched in the developed world.” Masscare.org
