Chestnut Hill- Brookline resident and Co-chair of Mass-Care, masscare.org Pat Berger included this timeless quote of Dr. King’s quest for health care for all in her below editorial published recently in the Boston Herald owned chain newspaper, Brookline Tab, brooklinewickedlocal.com.
Let’s help Pat Berger and Mass-Care advocates pass single payer care legislation by voting yes for single payer care. Additionally, I am asking you to please vote No to eliminating the MA income tax on ballot question 1 on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4th.
Most important, please ask friends, relatives, neighbors, business associates and local leaders to Vote Yes for Single Payer and No to eliminating the MA income tax (go to votenoquestion1.com).
Co-Chair of the League of Women Voters of Brookline, Shaari S. Mittel, wrote the below published Brookline Tab editorial. Mittel concluded,
“…Question 1 a reckless proposal that could increase local property taxes, cause sweeping cuts in education, cripple our public safety departments and speed the deterioration of our infrastructure. We encourage all voters to VOTE NO on Question 1 in the interest of preserving vital services for the citizens of Massachusetts.”

The premise of this worthwhile effort is to create a formal student voter registration system. The bill is stuck in committee in the MA legislature. This first in the nation bill is co-sponsored and co-authored by college student leaders and State Senator Cynthia Creem. My recent democratic primary opponent, incumbent State Representative Mike Rush continues to ignore the bill. Rush is the only state representative in the Brookline delegation who has not replied to numerous requests to support the bill.

By establishing the 10th Suffolk District Board now, we will begin working together to identify and solve the problems in Brookline, West Roxbury, Roslindale and beyond. Let’s begin posting 10 Suffolk District editorials, local news and community events on pamelajulian.com.
Victory won’t be easy. We need to stay together and work together!
All the best,
Pamela
